You are the owner of your stream and river, lake, bay and coast. Pollution is theft. When a polluter breaks the law, we all have the right and responsibility to stop them. Waterkeepers enforce environmental laws, patrolling our waterways and protecting our communities.

Waterkeeper Alliance strengthens our 157 local Waterkeepers, bringing their clean water campaigns to the national and international level:

Pure Farms, Pure Waters
Industrialized meat producers displace family farmers, subject animals to appalling cruelty and imperil our health and environment. We fight failing government agencies and corporate meat factories. We promote sustainable farming, consumer action and good healthy food.

Clean Fisheries, Safe Seafood
Mercury is an absurdly dangerous toxin. We fight to reduce mercury pollution and protect the public from contaminated seafood. We will force coal-burning power plants to slash mercury pollution and ensure that our fish are plentiful and edible.

Clean Water Defense
Environmental protections are under attack. We lead the fight for strong rules and vigilant enforcement of environmental laws. We stand with our local programs to protect our waters — the foundation of our economic prosperity, the fountain of our cultural and natural heritage, and the source of our drinking water.
