The New York/New Jersey Bay once contained 350 square miles of oyster beds and 400 active oystering boats. The bay is now the most urbanized area where successful oyster restoration is occuring. Here, the N.Y./N.J. Baykeeper is blowing shells into New York Harbor to create a new oyster reef.
